WATCH | Traffic Warden Issues Penalty Notice To Speed Enforcement Van

A video has been shared on social media of the moment when a traffic warden (or ‘Civil Enforcement Officer’) issues a fixed penalty notice to a speed enforcement van that was parked on the high street.

It is not known if the speed enforcement van was active at the time of the ticket being issued, or if the driver had just parked up before getting some food.

But either way, the comments on the post of the Facebook page where the video was uploaded suggest that the sight of the fixed penalty notice being issued brought a lot of pleasure to quite a few people.

Although, one social media user did point out that the fine would end up ultimately being paid by the taxpayer.

But still, when you have got a target to meet, then a ticket is a ticket.

Questions Raised Over Suitable ‘Cake Fine’ After Armed Cops Leave Ammo On Roof Of Car

There is an unwritten rule in the emergency services that states that, if you make a cock-up at work, then you are duty-bound to ‘compensate’ your ‘oppos’ by buying them cakes.

The sort of cock-ups we are talking about here, often involve things such as inadvertently appearing on TV, or maybe driving home at the end of your shift with the keys to a work vehicle in your pocket.

So there has been quite a bit of debate on social media regarding what a suitable ‘cake fine’ should be for some armed police officers who accidentally left some ammo on the top of their vehicle.

The rounds were left on the roof of an Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) on Wednesday morning just before the ARV sped off to a call.

The A13 in east London was shut for several hours as officers tried to figure out who the ammo belonged to.

As the ammo had been found by a member of the public who called the police, the area had to be treated as a ‘crime scene’ until it became clear that the ammo belonged to the ARV crew.

The police also had to make sure that all of the ammo had been picked up, which meant that local officers had to spend many hours making a fingertip search of the area…

The Met Police confirmed that: “quantity of ammunition and ancillary items” had fallen from the car.

These things happen. Especially when you are sorting through you ‘things’ (in this case, ammo) and you get a call that you have to speed off to.

But the question is: what should the cake fine be????

WATCH | Could This Be The Answer To Eating In Restaurants While Wearing A Mask?

Most of us are missing heading to our favourite restaurant, accompanied by our friends and awkward family members.

But we are in a dilemma.

We are being told that we must wear our paper masks in the shops and while on public transport, but we are also being told that we don’t need to wear them in a restaurant.

To be fair, it is a bit of a mixed message. And it is one of the reasons why quite a few of us are still steering clear of our favourite eatery.

But we spotted a video on social media earlier on today which we think could hold the answer to our eating-out prayers.

When the video starts, we see a man sat down in front of a plate of food armed with a knife and a fork.

As he cuts the food, you start to wonder how he is going to eat his immune-system-boosting vegetables without first having to fumble around with his mask.

And then, as if by magic, as he raises the food towards his masked mouth, a ‘hatch’ opens on the front of the mask, and the food quickly disappears into his gob.

You might be wondering what sort of mechanical marvel is responsible for this high-tech mask that enables you to ‘stay safe’ as you chow down on your favourite meal.

The answer is simple: string.

The mask is ‘powered’ by a tiny thread of string. Please have a look for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments below.

WATCH | Making Paper Masks ‘Sexy’ With A ‘Strip Tease’

When you don your paper mask, it is hard to think of a scenario where the infamous mask can be seen as being ‘sexy’.

But one woman has managed to change the perspective of, literally, thousands of people by doing a cheeky little ‘face mask strip tease’.

In the video below, as with all good stripteases, the performer starts with a seductive tease as she slowly takes off one of the fasteners from her ear.

The eye movements of the performer give you an idea as to what is coming next, as she then takes the right side of the mask off of her ear.

Now, as both sides of the paper mask are free from the performer’s ears, we await with eager anticipation the ‘big reveal’.

The tease continues as the viewer becomes ‘worked up’ over what is, by now, a ten-second performance of ultimate face-mask-fantasy.

And then; BOOM!

There it is in all of its splendor….time for a cold shower…enjoy!

Employers Who Take On Veterans Could Get 12 Months Of National Insurance Relief

Most countries recognise and acknowledge the sacrifices which are made by their military men and women.

After all, if the s**t hits the fan, then it’s our brave lads and lasses in the military who the general public will expect to defend the country, even if that means they lose their life.

As a veteran myself, I feel honoured to have served alongside some of the bravest humans I have ever met.

And I also know how much it means to the veteran community when the government and the general public acknowledge and honour the service of armed forces personnel.

Today, the Office for Veterans’ Affairs has announced that the UK government is launching a consultation on plans that could see employers not having to pay any National Insurance contributions for any veterans they employ in their first year of employment.

This might not sound like a big deal.

Still, as someone who, in my previous business, used to employ 12 people then I can say, based on my own experience, that had all of my staff have been veterans, then I would have saved quite a few thousand pounds – which, as an employer, is a big incentive to employ someone.

The scheme is intended to: ‘encourage businesses further to utilise the immense skills and experience of veterans’ said a spokesperson for the Office for Veterans’ Affairs.

And the government has invited businesses, veterans groups and the public to respond to the consultation via the Gov.uk website.

Personally, I think that veterans themselves should not have to pay any National Insurance contributions at all.

After all, veterans were willing to put their lives on the line for the safety and security of the country.

Waiving their responsibility to pay National Insurance is, as a country, the least we can do.

Five Reasons Why Wearing A Paper Mask Shouldn’t Be A Problem

It looks like more and more governments from around the world are finally starting to wake up to the idea that wearing a mask can actually help to save lives.

After all, one of the main ways of catching the virus is by inhaling the ‘cough’ and ‘sneeze’ clouds (non-medical term) of people who have got the virus.

So surely, being asked to wear a paper mask when you are around other people is not such a big deal when you consider that, for some people, catching the virus could mean the end of their life.

I get that some people just do not like being told what to do, regardless of the rationale behind the instructions.

Personally, I think that we need a certain amount of discipline if we all want to live in a ‘civilised’ society. Otherwise, our civilisation will be, well, uncivilised (if it isn’t already).

Our team of social media publishers have seen a lot of ‘chatter’ on SM over the past couple of days from people who are getting really upset at the thought of having to wear a mask so that fewer people must die.

So we thought that we would highlight the following five simple reasons which outline why wearing a paper mask really should not be a massive issue:

Reason #1 – fewer people will die

Reason #2 – fewer people will die

Reason #3 – fewer people will die

Reason #4 – fewer people will die

Reason #5 – fewer people will die

So there you have it; five simple reasons which outline why, in the context of a far bigger picture, wearing a paper mask when you are near other people really should not be a major issue.

If you do want some paper masks, then you can buy a pack of 50 for as little as 9.98 on Amazon

If You Need These Gloves, Then Please Get Off The Road

An image has been shared on social media, which shows a motorist who appears to need to be reminded as to which direction is left and which direction is right.

But would you want to be on the road with someone who needs to be told which direction is left and which direction is right?

For example, if this driver was hurtling along the motorway and an overhead gantry sign was telling drivers to ‘keep left’ owing to an emergency ahead, then this driver might end up keeping right (assuming that they weren’t wearing their gloves at the time).

I think that if I was driving behind this motorist and I saw them behind the wheel with these gloves on, then I would exit the motorway ASAP!

When you take into account that most road traffic collisions are caused by driver error, then the fact that this person needs to be reminded of their left from their right is worrying!

Or maybe they were just on a driving lesson?

I am relatively sure that knowing your left from your right is an essential part of your driving test!

Man ‘Rescues’ Ciggies From Sinking Van

The only vehicle you would see me driving on to a beach, would be a quad bike or similar all-terrain-vehicle.

This is because, having spent lots of time on beaches (not the warm and sunny ones), I know just how quickly things can go wrong when the sand decides to eat your wheels.

And that is precisely what happened to one man who thought that it would be a ‘good’ idea to drive his white van onto a tidal beach.

The bizarre incident happened on Sunday afternoon on Redcar beach, as reported by Teeside Live.

Attempts had been made to ‘rescue’ the white van, but they failed after the rope being used to pull the van out of the sea kept snapping off of the tractor that it was attached to.

And then one lad thought that it was a ‘good’ idea to have his picture taken on top of the van, before climbing into it so that he could rescue several packs of ciggies.

Keighly Finnegan saw what happened and told TeesideLive:

“The van came on the beach, and it had the trailer and speedboat on the back, and he kind of did a big U-turn down the other end and went back.

“And then as soon as the engine cut off all of a sudden you could see there was something going on because he was just gesturing and troubled faces and all that kind of stuff.

“He ran back here and then a woman went off the beach and then they came back and there was a lot to do. “

Keighly added that people tried pushing it, but the water had come in and, let’s face it, you are never going to win a tug-of-war with the sea.

Apparently, the driver of the van had tried to tow a boat into the sea, but he ended up getting himself into a bit of a pickle after he did a u-turn on the beach and went ‘off road’ (or, ‘off track’).

One person said that the view of the topless man coming out of the sea with several packs of cigs resembled a: “council estate version of a James Bond film”

What would you have done if this was your van? Let us know in the comments below!

A McDonald’s Restaurant Has Come Up With A Way Of Stopping People From Eating In

As fast-food restaurants around the world start to re-open, many restaurant managers are having to think of novel ways to stop their customers from eating in.

Just asking people not to pull up a chair before chowing down on their burger and fries doesn’t really seem to work.

You could remove all of the chairs.

But then people would probably sit on the floor instead, and nobody wants to start hauling hungry people around – because we all know what we are like when we are hungry!

But one McDonalds restaurant has come up with a great way of reminding their customers that ‘eating in’ is not really an option.

Small traffic cones have been sellotaped to stools meaning that, unless you want a cone up your behind, then I am guessing that most people are going to resist the urge to sit down before chowing down.

Do you think this will be enough to stop hungry people from sitting down before eating their food?
