Putin Issued Order To His Nuclear Weapons Commanders In Response To Liz Truss Comments, Kremlin Says

When the whole world does everything it can (or should be doing everything it can) to prevent World War III, then you would have thought that ‘diplomats’ would/should be doing everything they can to deescalate the situation.

Over the weekend, citizens worldwide gasped in horror as footage emerged of Putin telling his generals to put Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces on high alert.

Even his generals looked worried. No doubt they have grandchildren who they want to see live their lives in full, rather than perishing in a nuclear war that would wipe ALL of us out.

Many of us peace-loving folk wondered what the heck had happened for Putin to start talking about putting in place a set of measures that would only lead to one thing: Mutually Assured Destruction.

Well, now it would appear that the reason for the sudden irrational escalation was down to what foreign secretary Liz Truss said recently, according to the chief spokesperson for the Russian president.

Putin’s worrying order, issued on Sunday, seriously escalated the crisis over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, raising the ghoul of a worldwide nuclear conflict that would only result in the demise of humanity.

Today (28th Feb), Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov blamed “unacceptable” comments from Western politicians for prompting the move and singled out Ms Truss.

“There were unacceptable statements about possible conflict situations and even confrontations and clashes between Nato and Russia,” said Mr Peskov.

“I will not name the authors of these statements, although it was the British foreign secretary.”

It appears that Peskov may have been referring to comments in a Sunday morning TV interview, in which Truss said that if Putin was not stopped in Ukraine it could lead to Nato being dragged into a wider conflict.

“If we don’t stop Putin in Ukraine we are going to see others under threat – the Baltics, Poland, Moldova, and it could end up in a conflict with Nato,” said the foreign secretary on Sunday.

“We do not want to go there. That is why it is so important we make the sacrifices now.”

We vote in our politicians to keep us safe, not to expose us to the prospect of getting us into a war that none of us (apart from weapon manufacturers) wants.

But having heard politicians speaking recently, you would be forgiven for thinking that they are trying to score points amongst each other concerning who comes across as sounding scarier.

It worries me that the safety of our children and our families are put in the hands of individuals who will never have to fight in a war that they seem all too willing to get us into.

Many people feel that Truss is not suitable to be in the role of foreign secretary at a time when the world is becoming a tinder box.

The last time she sat in front of the Russians, they told her off for speaking over the translator who could not keep up with what she was reading.

If you do not have enough situational awareness to know when you are speaking over someone who is trying to translate what you are saying then what sort of situational awareness can you manifest in the role of foreign secretary!?

We need politicians who will do everything they can to AVOID a war, rather than politicians who seem happy to send the sons and daughters of other people to their death in a war that should never, and hopefully will never, happen.

Putin should never have invaded Ukraine; he has the deaths of thousands of people on his conscience.

But we pay our politicians, in this country, to keep us all safe and NOT to expose us to the risk of a bloody and brutal war.

It is time politicians did what we pay them to do!
