Flight Aborts Take-Off After Two Passengers Refuse To Wear Masks
A Delta Airlines flight aborted its take off after two passengers refused to wear a mask.
The flight (#1227), scheduled to fly to Atlanta from Detroit, was taxiing towards the runway when the two passengers refused to follow the instructions of the cabin crew.
Most of the major airlines have a similar rule in place as the world battles with the virus that has now taken around 697,000 lives.
As the tiny droplets of fluid which are emitted from your nose and mouth when you sneeze and cough could contain the deadly virus, wearing a mask is one way of helping to stop its spread.
The two passengers refused to don a mask, even when the crew pointed out that it was their policy that all passengers must wear one.
The airline recommends that passengers who cannot wear a mask owing to medical conditions ‘seriously reconsider’ travelling.
Delta CEO Ed Bastain said:
“You cannot board a Delta plane unless you have a mask on.
“If you board the plane and you insist on not wearing your mask, we will insist that you don’t fly Delta”.
Delta confirmed that it has already banned over 100 people from using its services owing to their unwillingness to wear a mask.
But what do you think?
