Back Cops Catch Huge Boa Constrictor Caught Breaking An Entry

If you are scared of snakes, then look away now!

Police Officers are used to dealing with some slippery characters, but Merseyside Officers were left ‘flabbergasted’ when they were called to a flat on the Wirral to reports of a snake in the bathroom.

We have probably all seen snakes of the one-eyed variety in the bathroom, but this was different. It was a real snake and not one that you would want to play with!

The woman occupant of the first floor flat in Brunswick Mews, Birkenhead, called police just after 1 am on 30 December 2019 and when they arrived, they found themselves confronted by a 6ft-8ft Boa Constrictor.

According to Merseyside Police, neither the woman occupant of the flat or her neighbour knew where the snake had come from.

Did it appear via the u-bend in the toilet? Had somebody been playing around with some black magic and thus the snake just appeared from nowhere? So many questions…

After doing some online research, the officers at the scene were reasonably confident that the snake was a Boa Constrictor and wasn’t poisonous.

They called several organisations to help them recover the reptile safely. Still, unfortunately, they were unable to attend, so they called on fellow officer Constable Chris Eastwood, from the Matrix team.

Constable Eastwood has knowledge of snakes and handling them and when he arrived confirmed it was a Boa Constrictor.

Its times like this when your colleague who has a passion for snakes comes in handy — despite many years of ridicule from people who are too scared even to draw a snake, let alone handle one.

PC Eastwood (very apt) was able to calmly approach the reptile, which had wrapped itself around the bathroom sinks and taps, and after giving it a drink of water was able to coax it to unravel itself so that he could put it into a large, safe container.

PC Eastwood then made arrangements to have the snake temporarily housed at a local pet rescue facility.

The snake has been temporarily rehomed and is doing well – the rest is hiss-tory…..

So next time you sit on the toilet, just be mindful of what could be lurking around in the pipes…

The most disturbing thing about this story is that nobody knows where the snake came from
