Amidst all of the bad news out there, it is great to share a ‘good’ news story, even if it is a ‘double-edged sword’.
When a busy Emergency Department doctor finished his shift, he went to retrieve his pedal bike that had been locked up outside Harrogate Hospital.
However, when he returned to where he had left it at the start of his shift, he found that it had been stolen.
Of course, we all know that even during times of a national crisis, thieves will carry on with their immoral practices.
But you would have thought that thieves would have given our amazing NHS staff a break from their ruthless activites.
Thankfully, DIY SOS star Nick Knowles, who has always been a strong supporter of the emergency services, came forward with a random act of kindness.
In a tweet, Michael Smith said:
“Our ED doctor just finished their shift treating unwell patients, and someone has stolen their bike from outside Harrogate Hospital”.
Amongst the replies to the tweet, TV personality Nick Knowles said:
“That is outrageous – I’ll buy him a new bike if he gets in contact – hope it wasn’t designed by McLaren”.
Twitter users were quick to thank Mr Knowles for his random act of kindness.
“Nick. You’re amazing. Exactly what this country needs at a time like this.
“Nice gesture. Sad thing is you’ll now get contacted by 407 alleged Drs who have had their bikes nicked. Go for the one with no bog roll”.
“For all the selfish bulk buying shoppers, there is Nick Knowles!”
