Motorists Celebrate As Tree Takes Out Speed Camera During Storm Ciara
As the UK assesses the significant damage caused by storm Ciara, one image has emerged that will undoubtedly cheer some people up.
Aside from the thousands of pictures of people chasing their bin lids down the road, this photo caught our attention.
A tree, blown over by the 90 mph gusts, managed to land on a speed camera causing it a significant amount of damage. Motorists who just happened to be driving by at the time made the most of the opportunity and took a few pics of the downed speed camera.
Thankfully, the tree appears not to have damaged any cars during its descent to the ground, but the speed camera looks like it is going to be out of action for some time.
We are not entirely sure as to where the speed camera is (or was) as the person who sent the picture into us does not know.
But you can bet that the damaged speed camera will be up-and-running again in no time at all. Expect to see an invoice on your next Council Tax statement (if you live in the area where the camera was ‘taken out’).
Is it just me, or does the speed camera look a bit sad?
