Earlier this week, I watched an interview on Sky News between presenter Adam Boulton and world-renown conservationist Dr Jane Goodall.
During the interview, Dr Goodall said that she thought that coronavirus was natures way of telling us something – that it was natures way of “fighting back” against humanity.
From what we know so far, it is believed that COVID-19 started in a live animal market in the heart of Wuhan, China.
Mr Boulton was taken aback by the comment and asked Dr Goodall to expand a bit more on what she had just said.
Dr Goodall went on to explain that for years now, humanity has mistreated and slaughtered billions of animals just to feed its insatiable desire for meat.
Meat that is pumped with all sorts of nasty chemicals and antibiotics and meat which has been butchered following a cruel and inhumane death.
I hardly eat any meat now because I do not trust livestock farmers and food manufacturers to produce something that is geared towards my health and vitality rather than being geared towards their bank balances.
If I knew that the meat in front of me had been reared organically and had not been pumped full of chemicals (including the nasty ‘things’ put in the animal’s feed), then I might still eat it. If I was famished and there was no other food available.
But I have found that, since avoiding anything that has been tampered with by large corporations, I feel a lot healthier—a lot more alert.
I now only eat food that has less than six natural ingredients in it or food that finds itself in front of me in the same way that nature made it (i.e. I avoid processed foods).
It’s a personal choice because I just think that there are certain things which should be kept out of our body.
If you are lucky enough to own a sports car, then you would not expect it to work correctly if you pumped it full of ‘dirty’ fuel.
And yet, somewhat ironically, we seem all too happy to ingest dangerous chemicals and GMOs etc without even a second thought. And then we wonder why our bodies aren’t working as well as they should be.
We are happy to put only the finest, cleanest fuel in our cars but when it comes to our bodies then ‘anything’ goes even though our bodies are infinitely more complicated than a car.
In China, over 1,000,000,000 pigs are slaughtered each year.
China is notorious amongst animal welfare groups for its mistreatment of the animal kingdom, which is one of the reasons why, despite travelling all around the world, I just cannot bring myself to visit China.
So should we really be that surprised that coronavirus seems to have originated from a place that is notorious for its abusive treatment of animals, i.e. live animal markets?
I think Dr Jane Goodall has a point you know.
I think that, unless we stop our greedy desire to eat as much meat as we can and as cheaply as we can, then outbreaks similar to coronavirus will be more common.
We are putting stuff and ‘things’ in our body that nature never intended us to consume.
If you want to know what you should and should not be eating, then just look at what nature has provided us with.
Nuts, berries, fruits and other Legumes with the very occasional organic, free-range chicken? Yes.
All the other crap that is pumped into animals and processed foods and animals which are forced to live and die in their own p**s and s**t? No.
